Anyone use felt for knife handle liners? I'm going to try it, unless someone has a good reason not to. First I'll do a test with some scrap wood & epoxy, I guess.

Might be worth trying. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Seems like if you use plenty of epoxy, you would basically be making a thin sheet on micarta. Let me know how your tests come out.

Was my thought also after reading OPs question. Might be on to something......Felt Micarta.

Epoxy and felt will work, I made some "my-carta" with it and it came out nice.

I've used some "wool Carta" before. It worked pretty well.

I've not had any problems - so far, by using felt as spacer material after being soaked in CA glue. If you try that approach, be sure to have some sort of lubricant or wax paper between the drying felt and your handle/guard material. That will make it much easier to keep them separate and make adjustments until the fittings are ready to be put in place for good.
