Atlantic or Pacific Salt, which one?

I'm going to be buying one or the other as my large, multi purpose beater knife. It will go with me snowmobiling, motorcycling, hiking, swimming, and might even replace my Delica 4 as my EDC depending on how well I like it.

I gather that the Pacific Salt is just an Endura w/ and H1 blade (just as a Salt 1 is a delica), and the Atlantic is just a rescue style straight blade.

Which style do you prefer? I've EDC'd a Delica 4 for some time and like it, I've never owned a rescue style blade.

Opinions?

The PS is pretty much an E3 except the tip is rounded more and it has a bigger Spyderhole. I prefer the PS because of its ability to stab, but I uderstand that the sheepsfoot shape on the AS is purposely meant to prevent stabbing for situations where you may drop the knife while on a ship, etc. So do you want to be able to stab or is that something you'll want to prevent? The Rescue/AS bladeshape also allows you to cut people's clothes for emergency situations while reducing the risk of cutting them. Again I prefer the PS simply because I have more options and will have less chances of doing EMT type work.

I own a Pac Salt for on the boat, and bought an Atlantic Salt for a friend. For on a boat, go with the Atlantic Salt, for a beater, Pac Salt.

Pac Salt it is!

Thanks guys. Now, anybody selling one? :) Fully serrated please!

I think the Pacific Salt was the best choice for a general purpose beater knife. I have two that I use as my EDC and they work great.
