About a year ago, we made a special Dagger For the character of Hawkeye in the new movie The Avengers.
The studio sent us a piece of the fabric from Hawkeye's costume and asked if we could design a knife that would fit the character and match the handle material to the swatch of fabric . . .
So, 13 bottles of scotch and 200 drawings later, I came up with this bad boy. The flats between the grinds form the shape of an arrow with a broadhead, and the grooves in the ricasso area form the fletching for that arrow. Note too that there is an archer's target or bullseye behind the arrow.
We sent them a a small batch and heard back immediately that they loved them. In fact, we were told that the director loved the design so much that they were going to feature it throughout the movie  . . . A few months later we were told that the plan changed and it ended up getting kicked out of Hawkeye's hand early on in the action. . .
So, if anyone gets out to see The Avengers movie early on, please let us know how much exposure, if any, this killer cool dagger gets . . . . Sure hope I didn't get that drunk for nothin'. . .
Over a year ago, in Feb, 2011, we posted this thread with a teaser pic. . . . http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/820468-What-The?highlight=what
Then a month ago we posted this pic in this thread. . . http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/938194-Here-s-A-Little-Bit-More?highlight=arrow
Here's a couple of pics of the Dagger (Long and Short) with both machined handles and handshaped handles. . . Note the swatch of fabric from Hawkeye's costume in the background. The handle material was a dead match for this fabric.
Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye
Here's the first Prototype with Black Canvas handles. . . .
