About a year ago, we made a special Dagger For the character of Hawkeye in the new movie The Avengers.

The studio sent us a piece of the fabric from Hawkeye's costume and asked if we could design a knife that would fit the character and match the handle material to the swatch of fabric . . .

So, 13 bottles of scotch and 200 drawings later, I came up with this bad boy. The flats between the grinds form the shape of an arrow with a broadhead, and the grooves in the ricasso area form the fletching for that arrow. Note too that there is an archer's target or bullseye behind the arrow.

We sent them a a small batch and heard back immediately that they loved them. In fact, we were told that the director loved the design so much that they were going to feature it throughout the movie  . . . A few months later we were told that the plan changed and it ended up getting kicked out of Hawkeye's hand early on in the action. . .

So, if anyone gets out to see The Avengers movie early on, please let us know how much exposure, if any, this killer cool dagger gets . . . . Sure hope I didn't get that drunk for nothin'. . .

Over a year ago, in Feb, 2011, we posted this thread with a teaser pic. . . . http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/820468-What-The?highlight=what

Here's a couple of pics of the Dagger (Long and Short) with both machined handles and handshaped handles. . . Note the swatch of fabric from Hawkeye's costume in the background. The handle material was a dead match for this fabric.

Cool exposure Jerry! Busse is out there fighting zombies and supervillains!

Darryl and Hawkeye, hmmm... Longbows and crossbows.

Pssst, bring back the Camp Tramp...

Cool story, nice dagger.
I will see this movie, but doubt I'll be the first to report correctly on the dagger's screen time. Will try all the same.

Oh, did any of the protos return to the shop? Janitor's closet gonna open again soon?

Alright!!! Bring that one out. I want it.
Both sizes:D I love the bullseye handle!!!:thumbup::thumbup:
What are the specs? Will we get a chance to own one?

That is beyond amazing. You guys never cease to amaze and produce jaw droppers.

Edit: Both sides have that sweet, sweet grind?

Sorry, everyone, but I feel like I earned the right to boast.

I kind of saw those "feathers" as the vanes of an arrow. Seems to fit with the bullseye theme. The flat, unground portion of the blade is also very thin, like an arrow shaft. I wonder if the tip of the knife is going to flare out a bit like an arrowhead, completing the whole arrow allusion.

Did I call it or what.

Edit: So do I get one of these as a prize or what? :)

That is a sweet design, perfectly integrated into the character.
The machined Red & Black G-10 Is killer.

Wow, awesome design and execution. Love the tiny talon holes just to make it "authentic". :)

Hope they give the dagger some decent screen time, and at the least show off the hero prop.
