Bought an axe from Amazon, I want to give it a good sharpen on the KME, what's a recommended angle for axes?

Well for most full sized axes anyway they usual recommended angle is 30 degrees. IMO one of the mistakes people make with axes is they try to get them to be razors if they can, which is certainly cool, but tends to cause an axe or hatchet to stick vs. make chips fly which is what you usually want an axe or hatchet to do.

Oh wait, 30 inclusive?

It depends what will you use it for. In a 2Kg axe 30 degrees is only good for splitting very rough wood. 22-25 degrees is good for splitting, 17 degrees for cutting. If the axe is lighter it can be thinner.

My 2Kg cutting axes are between 15 and 17 degrees. If you have any problem with a 17 degrees axe used only for cutting there is something wrong with the axe. Usually bad or spoiled heat treatment, avoid the axe or the maker, depending the reason of the bad heat treatment.

A rolled convex edge about 25° at the very edge, rolling back to about 22° 1/2" back from the edge.

Or use a gauge.
