I was wondering how you have modified your Benchmades and would deffinatly like pics (I will be posting some within the next couple of days) of your blades.

I for one have added glow powder mixed in two ton epoxy to the center of my axis bar (in the dimple) and at night it glows for a couple hours and has no ill effect on the knife that I can see.

I also attempted a "stonewashed" finish on my BM 6150 (auto mini rukus) and although it didnt quite turn out as planned I think I like the finish that it left on the blade. The blade was worn (BK coating no longer existed on the front 2/3 of the blade) and frankly looked like crap, after tumbling for hours on end it has a nice even finish. (steel BBs and actual stones.... okay it was gravel :p )

I also tossed the handle scales in the tumbler for about an hour, perhaps two, and after taking them out and allowing them to dry they looked very nice and almost brand new (almost because I have managed to get metal filings embeded in the micarta)

Well thats all I have done to my knifes, Im looking forward to hear what you have done to yours

I haven't done much but I am planning on doing some more eventually. I have waved a mini grip, the one with the oval as the hole and the one with a round hole for my best friend. I have made replacement omega springs for my EDC that had one break. I have polished up the blade and the washers and liners to try and make it smoother. I'm in the process of making a wave for my 950 I just need to make myself get out and do a little mill work. I have also thought about milling the liners to lose some weight on a few knives but the weight doesn't bother me a ton.

I bought some needle files and plan on doing some file work but I need to get a piece of scrap and do some practice first. I have stripped the coating off some pocket clips and polished them up. Have also colored some hardware on a few knives.

I have thought about jeweling the flats of the blade on my 950 and polishing up the liners and screws. It is my EDC and looking pretty rough but is still in great shape other than it having a worn look.

I'm not sure there is much that can be done to only Benchmade knives. You might want to ask about any knife brand mods and might get more feedback.

I pretty much love the action the way it is, and I fear my tinkering may inhibit performance. In time, I may have a little fun, but right now, the 3 BM's I own, are wonderful.

The most I've done is mirror polish liners, aluminum handles, blades and tangs.

I won't mess with the lock.

I'm contemplating adding weight and epoxy to my Grips scales, and am currently replacing the old G-10 inlays in my 707 with CF.
