I bought this recently to give to a close friend. I'm having trouble finding information like when it was made. Any pointers to BF threads will be appreciated.
Thanks, Brian

Date Code Stickie https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/buck-date-codes.716179/
says the 3 line tang stamp was used from 1972 to 1986.
I know the 1974 Buck 110 had a dot on each side of the 110 (*110*), which yours doesn't have, so its not a "two dot".

The Revised Data Sheet stickie https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/revised-110-112-data-sheet-as-of-5-1-08.612901/
might help you narrow it down a little.

Prior to 1986, which your knife surely is, Buck did not have a date code symbol for the year.

I'd guess yours is pre - 1 dot and 2 dot.
The blade steel is more than likely 440C.

I don't recall when Buck started using 3 scale/cover pins. (the rocker pin "don't count" in the pin count.)

Hopefully Mr. @Joe Houser or Mr. @J Hubbard will chime in and correct any misinformation I may have stated, and be able to check Buck's records for the year that commemorative knife was made.

A beautiful knife, for sure. :)

I can't help, but that's a nifty knife and you're a good friend

It’s three lines no dots so it must be 72-73. I lost track of the detailed descriptions that told of the different changes in variations. The number, type and size of pins and arrangement. I don’t know when they started the radius on the bolsters and handle from squared.

BrianB43 BrianB43 , your Harley model is a 1992. There was a whole series of those that went into 93 maybe 1994. I bought some of them and I don't even own a motor cycle. They were striking to view. A great find! The blade steel is 425m. DM

The are 10 knives in the Heritage Series. Each one with a different blade etching and different handle material. The were released, to the best if my knowledge, one per year through the 90's. At one time Buck Knives and Harley Davidson were partners as Buck made a number of collectable knives for the motor company. Search on eBay for Buck Knives Harley Davidson. At any given time there are 100 or more listed.

Picture is if my Harley Buck display. The Heritage 110's are in the long center case. The small cases to the right are 5 knives in the V-twin series.

Thank you all for your helpful information.

I will look through the Buck Collector's Club newsletters - I forgot I have that resource.

I'm no expert but I could see just looking at it that it was on the more recent side.
Those old 440c blades didn't have the edge 2000 style blade grind and if I'm not mistaken it would definitely have a square frame right ?
either way when I read '72-'73 my first thought was it looks way more recent than that.

The '92 year mark is a single dash of the right side. In' 92 the was a production change is some sort. To distinguish the change a single dash was added to the left side as well. So that knife was made in '92 after the production change. I do lot know what was changed.

My uneducated guess would have been the early 90's as well. Those were somewhat of a limited edition thing (3000 as it states) and the dealers would all get a few. I remember that they weren't cheap. (Those of us with experience know that HD actually is short for Hundred Dollars which was the minimum you'd drop once inside a dealership.) Your friend is gonna be pleased, if not let me know.
