I was in my local beverage warehouse a few days ago when I spotted a hot-pink bottle among the thousands of beers and ales. It was the LAST bottle of Rogue Ales' VOODOO DOUGHNUT / BACON MAPLE ALE. Being a real HAWG fan..., I couldn't resist bringing it home. It was $11.99 + tax for a 25.4oz. bottle. I chilled it for seven days at 42 degrees, and tonight..., I popped the top. It was an excellent surprise with strong, but pleasant flavors of maple, applewood bacon, and hickory smoke coming through. I really enjoyed this one, and I hope they may re-stock it; however, I believe it is a limited edition. If Voodoo Doughnuts are as good as this beer..., I will have to take a trip to Oregon one of these days. I highly recommend this beer as something different but delicious, if you can find it. Anybody tried a Bacon Maple Doughnut from Voodoo???

I had the pleasure of trying Voodoo donuts a few years back at Blade West in Portland. They are amazing. The maple bacon donuts are everything wonderful wrapped into one hand held treat. I ate more donuts that weekend than my entire life. They actually sell donuts in 5 gallon buckets, and that is alot of donuts.

I love bacon. I love dark beers, Belgians and stouts being my choice. But I have to admit this beer had a lil too much o the smoky flavor for me. I didn't feel that the porky taste was coming through. Worth a try though. A very unique beer!

Wow i've never heard of any beer like that! That is awesome  Hindsight, I am with you. I'll bring the booze =)

I was there last summer for a camping/road trip up the coast ending in Portland and YES. They are that good!! Busse content.
