Bahco folding saw?

“I was contacted by the company, (it's kind of a brain fart on my part - some miscommunication), but what needed to be cleared up was the fact that Kershaw makes this folding saw for Bahco". Peek. Significant is they have the XT teeth and not the (JS/JT) green wood teeth.

Nope. Bahco makes it for Kershaw..

Nope. Bahco makes it for Kershaw..
I'm unconvinced either way unless someone shows me something solid. In the comments in that link brainstorm02 claims Bahco makes for Kershaw. If I had to pick I'd follow the path that leads to giant Kai as the source, and then they get branded as Kershaw or Bahco or Snap-on ['cos I've seen those too]. Add to that they guy in the vid claims the company phoned him up, so for Bahco to be the manufacturer he is either an idiot, a liar, or both. For all practical purposes here it doesn't matter but I like to learn; can you back that up with something solid?

Bahco is a Swedish company. The Bahco Laplander saw is made in Sweden (at least mine is.) Kershaw is owned by Kai... and IIRC they have never made anything in Sweden. (Not saying they couldn't, but let's look at obvious probabilities here.)

Besides Bahco have a long history of making gardening type products, distributed through hardware stores for many many years before any connection to "Kershaw." There is a Kershaw branded Bahco with a green handle and black blade that is an obvious Kershaw rebranding of a standard Bahco product.

FWIW the Bahco Laplander is a GREAT saw at a great price. The Japanese Silky might be better but I'm pretty happy with mine.

We can speculate all day long but it amounts to nothing. For those that enjoy that kind of pastime I'll throw these bones over the fence. Bahco tools was acquired by Sandvik in the early 1990s. It even underwent a renaming as a consequence. Later in the 1990s Snap-on bought that from Sandvik and another new name was borne, Bahco Group AB. Around the same time Snap-on bagged up another tool company, Herramientas from Spain. In the mid 2000s those two companies were merged into SNA Europe. Since then Bahco has been a brand of SNA Europe, with the brains based in France. Simply put; Bahco is just another brand name owned by SNA Europe. And for a few Snap-on looking sprinkles on the top - Along with craftsmen in various fields of activity, professionals in the automotive segment have for long known Bahco as a premium brand for hand tools. However, recently Bahco has moved from the position of a high reputation manufacturer of hand tools to a broad supplier of tools and equipment also for the automotive segment.. The plot thickens.

I've heard good things about these saws. I only have Silky saws though and I think they are great!
