I know that to carry a balisong knife anywhere at all, even in your car is illegal, but what about a trainer? It has no edge and cannot cut, so is it still considered a balisong knife?
If you used it in a threatening manner then fair enough, you deserve to be arrested, but surely you would be ok if you were just transporting it to say a friends house?

I ask this because I have seen bottlefly's in this country and even candy that functions as a small type of balisong.

It would be interesting to hear any comments :)

Being the UK and all I bet they could still find a law to throw at you.
This isn't legal advice but if you want to be really safe carrying it from one place to another keep it boxed up or wrapped in a bag, and then buried deep inside your pack, briefcase, or bag, not in your pocket.

This has come up on an british forum. They are legal as they aren't a knife. If you were seen playing with it in the street you would scare people though and no doubt would get in trouble.
