I am about to order a band saw and the Swag table for it, https://www.milwaukeetool.com/power-tools/corded/6232-20, and was wondering what would be the best blades to get. I do plan on cutting wood blocks with it on top of the metal cutting. Should I get separate blades for the wood, or just get really good metal ones and use those for both. Also plan on cutting carbon fiber, G10 and micarta as well.

Usually what I've done for my portaband is get bimetal 18tpi blades for metal, and just use the same blade for all materials. I sometimes will use a 24tpi blade if I'm cutting out thin stainless liners much.

Ti is fairly soft as far as the typical alloys used .PM Mecha he should know.

Wood vs Steel? A bandsaw for steel runs only about 1/10 th the speed of a wood saw !!!

I have used several Lenox blades and they all broke before they went dull. I now use Olsen blades and have never had one break. I pick them up at Ace Hardware locally. The ones I use are 10/14 vari-tooth bi metal. Bi-metal are a must! I also use them to profile all my scales, guards, etc.

I use a Milwaukee portaband in a SWAG table also and I must say that the Milwaukee brand blades are unimpressive. My picks are the Lennox bi-metal 14-18 variable pitch Portaband blades (44 7/8") and the Starrett bi-metal 14/18 variable pitch blades. I use Olsen 6 hook tooth blades in my wood cutting bandsaw but have not used their metal cutting blades. Check online for some good prices on the Starrett blades. They are first class and long lasting in my opinion. Larry
