hey guys, i'm looking to build up the table on my HF bandsaw. any suggestions? other than just beefing up the thickness of the table? maybe drill out the holes and re-tap for heavier screws?

the table just seems to flex too much and not support evenly.. and it seems like its bending my stock in doing so.

any help appreciated thanks

Here is an improvement on the table for the popular 4x6 bandsaws.

These two other mods have come in handy more times then I can count.

I have not modified the table yet but will very soon.

here's something i threw together,it just clamps in your saw vise--Butch:)

I replaced the table on my HF bandsaw with an 8"x8" piece of 1/4" steel. It was really easy to do and is so much better than the stock table. I did have to get longer screws to attach the table and I had to grind the top of the bearing guide so the table would sit flat on it.

Michael, I replaced my table with 3/4" Aluminum plate.Milled out the slot.Sorry don't have a close up pic of it right now.Dave:)

well i think thats it then... thick ol chunk of steel and some big screws. get that sucker bolted down right

thanks again guys

My saw had a sheet metal table for use in the upright mode. I replaced it with a piece of 3/8 plate that I drilled and countersunk for bolts. I also added some aluminum disks about 3/8 bigger in od on the out side of the drive and idler wheels (bolted them on to the 3 spokes) and the band never comes off now.

Hey Guys...

This is what I did...

I just used the old table as a template, countersunk the holes, cut the slot for the blade to run in and bolted it down..

Works Great and no flex..
