Nice vid to watch when I'm shut in and it's snowing outside.

Did just baton some wood in my garage with my BME2 and Chopweiler for a fire later. To make matchstick sized stuff I generally use my BG SOS.

Isn't the BB13 more for branch/limb clearing of the forest rather than chopping firewood?

How has the dead blow been holding up to batoning?

i have been using it a lot, i think

there is some damage here and there, nothing major, mostly because i hit the tip/point sometime instead of the spine

i will see if i can get some picture up, btw 4lb might be a little too much, after that video i was happy to be done! o_O

one thing for sure, 4lb does a nice job!

Nice video. Thank you for taking the time make it.

Do you think the thickness of the 8 helped with splitting?

How about swing chopping? The 1311 is an animal, because of the swing factor. Do you think the 8 would hold it's own without the assist of the deadblow?

for me a 8 inch blade is too small for swinging, i don't feel "it", i never tried so far, maybe this summer i will try it ...

I am interested in getting an 8. Hence all the question's. Thank you for answering them.

Looks good and it also looks like you've been stocking up on da wooooud! :D Nice Vid with that wood supply your going to be batoning for months.

For me as a chopper the hogB8 is as small as I would ever go. Even though it is shorter, the mass of the blade should make it hit harder than a typical 8 inch blade. At least that is my impression as I have not used one.

No problem

On the right side of the video, these are actual wood for the stove, im not going to baton them

I found the b8 led to be a very good chopper. The convex edge and blade geometry allowed the blade to bite deeply without over swinging.

...
see youtube comment for timestamp for each knife
I'm probably YouTube illiterate, but I cannot find this data.
I assume by "timestamp", you are referring to the time it took each knife to complete the task, as a way to compare each knife's efficiency?
Thank you!
