Hello Everyone,

I just thought I would post some photos and my initial thoughts/impressions on my new EDC from BAWIDAMANN BLADES.

A little over a year ago I started my search for a "small" edc fixed blade to carry, one that I could conceal with a IWB option, after many hours, and looking at THOUSANDS of knives, I finally found the knife I wanted..
The BAWIDAMANN BLADES POGN!

I ordered this beautiful blade on NOV-12-2014 and it arrived DEC-09-2014, it arrived well packaged and well oiled, wrapped in brown wax type paper, It also came with extra mounting hardware and a note about my purchase.

Unboxing/Overview.

Blade Steel: S35-VN.

NOTE: The knife DOES NOT come with a lanyard.. I made/attached the one you see!

Here it is "out of the box."

Well Oiled.

The POGN now comes with the UBER SCABBARD, made from Boltaron.

I really like that they used removable hardware on the scabbard, it makes cleaning very easy.. it also allows adjustment of retention using top-most screw, VERY COOL!
Thought: I think a "thumb screw" of some sort for the top hole on the scabbard would be Awesome for quickly adjusting the retention of the knife, and also, to keep someone from (without knowing how) taking the knife from you!?

The grinds are Absolutely Perfect as you can see in this shot of the top (un-sharpened) back edge of the blade.

In this shot you can see the Logo and how nice the jimping is.. this is the best feeling jimping I have ever seen/experienced on a knife!

Just a few shots for you're pleasure!

Blade Edge.

I wear a Medium size glove.

I'm not sure how well you can see it in these pictures, but the POGN fits in my hand perfectly!

Side Note: If you notice the scales/handles are just a tad smaller than the knife itself.. I think either corner on the butt of the grip could be used as an emergency glass breaker!?

After carrying this knife for a few days, I love it.. I carry it just back (about the 4 O'Clock position) of my side/hip IWB and I don't even notice that it's there! It has such a slim profile it just disappears under a shirt/jacket.

Sharpness: Yep, watch the video.. it takes hair right off! It's the sharpest knife I have ever purchased! I opened a package yesterday that was thinner type cardboard and it was like cutting air!? lol

So, in conclusion, I am absolutely thrilled with my new blade and look forward to carrying it for many year to come!

I want to thank Andrew and Ben Bawidamann for producing such a beautiful blade(s) and for keeping me informed on my order and just being Awesome.. Thanks Guys!

Thanks for the write up and the video. I always like seeing threads like this one. They have some interesting designs.

I know this is a mo old thread but great write up. I just bought a Tungsten Cerakote version, hope the finish holds up. Going into my EDC pack and into the woods when I get out there.. Their PUP system is cool, plan on mounting this or a backup onto the pack, thanks again for the review.

well hell.... i've been debating on weather or not to get one and damned if my CC didnt jump out and order one....all by itself...Thats the Large version you have right?

sn8kedoc,
No, this is the POGN with a 3 1/4" blade (Overall Length 7.25"), the POGN L has a 3.75" blade (Overall Length 8") and has a "point" towards the middle of the handle, after the two finger grooves.

I realize this is an old thread, I have also been researching a small fixed blade EDC and discovered the Bawidamann to compare to the Strider DB. I like the design of the POGN much better, but I cannot find where to actually buy one. Where did you get yours?

David, the link Alexandre posted is correct, that is were I order mine at. Thanks Alexandre!

Everyone I have shown the POGN to is like "WOW.. That's A Nice Blade!" I sure do love mine!

Alexdas, do you know the current turn around on the POGN? are they in stock? if so which colors? I am debating between the black and bronze the wait time will make up my mind

David,
It looks to me like they have some In Stock http://www.bawidamann.com/shop/Shenanigans%20%3E%20Bawidamann%20Blades/pogn-tungsten-blk-g10-vz-grips-04/.. (at the bottom of the page just above the blade specs) what one are you looking at, the POGN <----Above^ or the POGN L.. they look to have both available!?

It took them about a month (ordered on NOV-12-2014, Arrived DEC-09-2014) to get the knife to me. They are made in limited numbers & they are, at times, hard to find for purchase.. I had to wait over a year for a new batch to be made, it was well worth the wait though!! lol

Good Luck, Phil B.

I really am having a hard time deciding if i want the PONG or the L. My hands are not huge but i wear a large size glove. I would hate to get one and have it not fit. On the small size i want to be able to conceal it

David,
Get the POGN L, I wear a medium glove & the POGN "just fits" into my hand.. plus, a little extra blade never hurts! lol
Good Luck, Phil B.

Phil, I think you said you got the Tungsten finish, is that right? How does it hold up? I am torn between that and the bronze

David,
Yes, I got the POGN TUNGSTEN BLK (Black) I haven't really cut much with it.. it's more of a "backup" than anything! lol Although, I have cut some cardboard boxes up with it and there are zero signs of ware/use on the coating, it almost feels like a "Teflon" non-stick coating used in cookware!? It wipes clean quite easily and seems to bead water/moisture as well.

Whatever you choose, I'm sure you'll like it! Any other questions.. just ask!
