First off, I know zilch about any kind of compound bows. Never owned one. Second this little thing's setup is not really like a full size bow as far as I know, so online instruction isn't helping my feeble little attempts to fix it.

My problem. My nephew was bought one of these a while back, and it came to him with the string/cables jumbled up in a mess from the factory and unusable, and got stuck in a closet until now. Found it Today and have attempted to string it back the way it's supposed to go, but I'm stumped and don't seem to be making it any better. Anyone able to dumb it down and walk me through it or know where I can get some info?

Are the limbs (curvy pieces) on the riser(handle) yet? If not attach them. The two cables that cross should go on the right side of the cable slide (bar from the riser) and there should be a slight bit of tension on them, but not extra tight, you'll be able to figure out which way the limbs go on by this. the single string with the knock point on it goes to the left of the cable slide.

Yah. It came put together, just poorly. I pulled the pin holding the bottom cam (leaving the limbs attached) and attempted to rerun everything that way, but just can't seem to get it. I've got the "string" where it should be now. It was mixed into the "cables" somehow (though it's all one long piece of plastic). I can get it "looking" correct, but there's slack and no draw. Probably something simple, but I'm an idiot.

Well, those two strings need to be behind the bar coming from the riser. the strings should also go around the cams a bit with no slack. usually theres a loop in their ends, and then a bolt it goes around, and then the strings wrap around the cams. at least on my hoyt and martin theyre like that...

Yah, the "cables" are behind the guard an the loops pin in beside the cams. I just figured out if I run the "string" ( can a piece of plastic really be called a string?) through little grooves on the cams it kinda works, but backwards and with no power. I did try it with my full size arrows, lacking the little plastic doohickeys that come with it, but getting 5 feet with an Easton Fall Stalker doesn't bode very well for the stock arrows. Hmmm. Maybe it's just a lemon.

those plastic things are knocks lol. Yeah the cables wrap around the cams a little bit. Remove the cam anain and try wrapping the string once around. The cams need to roll a bit for tension.

Yah, I meant the little plastic "pretend arrows" originally in the box. :p I'm not completely devoid on archery knowledge, but bows with wheels on the end confuse me. ;)

I'm beginning to think that string like plastic object is just too long and may be why it was such a mess when it shipped. The limbs are as spread as they go and no configuration that doesn't involve duct tape seems to fix the slack. I'll just make up a real (non-plastic) shorter string this weekend and see if I can get it that way. Thanks for the help, bro.

Hahaha, i've shot competition with both traditional (recurve & longbow) and compound. Took my hunting test on a compound at age 11, and did competitions with all hunting type bows. I started my brother out on a bow similar to the brave (lil sioux) and he progressed from there. I'd scrap that bow and buy a lower grade recurve. When my brother outgrew his first bow we got him a PSE Buckeye jr in 25#. I know i undid my brothers cheapie compound he had and it was a pain in the butt to put back together. Good luck! BTW, i shoot a Hoyt Mystic Rebel XT, a Martin Ted Nugent Gonzo safari, a PSE Impala and a bear recurve.

Thanks, bro. I ran a piece of nylon string as a temporary test in place of the plastic thing it came with and that seems to have been the problem.
