I have a question, i have been trying to find a purpose of a bear claw or talon knife. any help of understanding what they are used for would be awesome

Those are designed for defense and to inflict injury. Used in martial arts and knife fighting. They are like a Karambit and designed for same reason.
I think their primary purpose is to sell knives to the young who have grand notions of using a knife for self defense via slashing. But there is a place for everything and I'm sure they work. There is such a variety of cutting tools available these days that it is a bit overwhelming.

I don't know why you guys make it complicated I mean just look at the knife I don't think they designed it as a box cutter what else would you think it is
It's was originally designed for those purposes but what are they mostly used for today?As stated earlier, the knife was originally an agricultural design, not a fighter. Another bear claw knife was designed for cutting of rope and cord, also, not a fighter.
