wonder why Mike at CK dropped the beaver tail 97 to a seven on his scale. micarta got a 9. just curious. hope he chimes in. I respect his honesty and integrity and the fact that he tells it like it is. can't wait til I get my shipping notice on my beaver tail 97. why does patience go out the window when it comes to knives? darn 57 year old kid.
 
whoops, should have checked his blog. has to do with the action being lighter. thanks again Mike for telling it how you see it. stand-up dealer for sure.
 
Interesting. You would think GEC would have dialed in the action for all remaining runs of the 97. Curious if the the change was a fluke, or on purpose.
 
I think the maroon linen micarta 97's set the bar really high for the rest of the run.
I know I sure love mine!
 
Mike said even the second shipment of micarta 97s wasn’t as good as the first.
I hope they bring it back up for the jigged bone run. Regardless, he mentions that they might be brought back up to par with a pivot flush and oil which I do on almost everything already.
Even my super smooth 81s needed it.
