All - I am expecting my first Becker tomorrow in the mail. For my first, I chose the BK4 or Machax. I have always kind of liked the look of the WSK knives out there but never bothered getting one. I also was in need of a nice chopper. I figured, (after watching tons of videos and such) that the Machax kinda sorta was a little of both.. I like the fact that I can chop or process wood with it and also do the fine wood work up closer to the handle. Needless to say, I am crazy excited to get it.

Here is the question:

I love micarta handles. I think they add to the overall appearance of a knife and are very comfortable, at least to me anyway. I tend to prefer a thiner handle than most. The Grivory scales on the Beckers appear to be sort of large. At least they look that way. I am curious where I can get some micarta handles with liners made up for it without costing more than the knife itself (I paid $60)? I've seen some out there for over 60 clams. Seems alot.

If anyone is out there... Looking for OD Green Micarta with Red Spacers!!!!!!!!

I got the Ka-bar micarta $35 I think and used rit dye its pretty much that or go with the TKK G10 for $65

Kabar micarta for around $40 is pretty nice. It is already a little thicker than the grivory so I don't know why you want liners if you want thin. You can buy slabs of micarta, maybe you can make your own thinner ones.
