thanks, guys. I do believe that once down this path, we should strive to one up ourselves, just for the fun of it. Not a competition, just an artisanal instinct to achieve beauty. This thread has been an awesome inspiration, keep'em coming!
 
Wow that seax is a thing of beauty Zulu!
I thought to keep it when it came back from HT, then decided it would make a badass gift for my brother and started carving, with a short story written for it. I think he liked it :D
 
pair of primitive hide scraper/herb knives -- made from a circular saw blade and scraps of a buddy's forging hammer handle (it was too long for his taste, so I snagged the cutoff)

Pretty cool...... I snagged a few large circular saw blades out of the scrap barrel at work.... I often wondered if I could make a knife out of them... I'd love to hear/see more examples
