5160 blade triple normalized then quenched in peanut oil, white oak handle sealed with beeswax, mild steel guard and pommel that were heated and quenched in rotella.

I'm tellin' ya. Always wanted a Scottish Claymore, even if it were just a display model. Especially after I found out that William Wallace is my umpteen great grandfather.
 
For having only one moving part, blades sure seem complicated to get into making! Now you need a scabbard, very clean looking blade! :thumbsup:

That is a monster! Very nice job! :)
 
My 5.75" Fighter blade is done. I did the swedge this morning. I took the finish to 1000x then fine Scotchbrite. Now it s time for the German silver guard and cocobolo handle.

I love the shape. Nicely done! :thumbsup:
