I love big, strong folders. Top to bottom:
Benchmade Skirmish – tang is 0.16 inches (4 mm), blade is 4.35 inches. Sabre grind. Beautiful, Neil Blackwood-designed knife with giant, recurve blade reprofiled to 30 degrees. Framelock (Reeve Intregral Lock) with light detent and super smooth and easy to open. A joy to use. High pivot allows for a ton of blade for that handle size. S30V steel that takes a fine edge. Medium-high carry clip.
Microtech DOC – tang is 0.16 inches, blade is 3.9 inches. Nightmare grind with a reprofile (30-degree back bevel and a 34-degree microbevel). Heavy detent. The flipper is stiff, but the blade is rock solid. Elmax steel that takes a fine edge. High carry clip. Marfione/Strider design.
Spyderco Manix (the real Manix) – tang is 0.156 inches, blade is 3.7 inches. Full flat grind with a reprofiled edge of 30 degrees. Lockback is solid, but stiff. Strong detent. S30V steel that takes a fine edge. High carry clip. Eric Glesser design.
Benchmade Rukus – tang is 0.15 inches, blade is 4.2 inches. Sabre grind. The blade just flies out because of the Axis lock. Light detent. S30V steel that takes a fine edge. A joy to use. Low carry clip. Another beautiful Neil Blackwood design (first production run).
