Hello all,

Recently I was digging through some of fathers old tools and came across this Bellota Pickaxe.
I was trying to get an idea of when it was made.
I do know that Bellota is a Spanish company.
I do remember this took as a child and it is in remarkable shape considering the use(abuse) it has taken over the years. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, I sent them an email to see if they could help date it.
I have a question concerning how to handle it. I've never been all that comfortable with just slipping the pickaxe kn AMR letting friction hold. Would there be any disadvantage to using a wedge?

Thanks again

Thanks. No point in wedging that. You can make a tighter fit by rasping the handle to fit the eye taper very closely and then driving it on firm. But if I plan to leave the tool on the handle I just stick a screw under it and be done with it.
