Hi

Looking for a nice belt clip on holster to hold a cell phone, flashlight and leatherman tool.

I have seen the Nite Ize, but would like one that is a little more rugged.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Custom LeatherCraft has several different types of tool holders. I have one of their tool bags and some of their other products and they are all good quality. Hopefully one of these may suit your needs. I've found their products at many farm & ranch stores such as Orscheln and Atwood's.

you could have a custom leathersmith, such as Lifter, make you one?

thats the route i would go for the combo!

I was wondering how everyone manages their everyday carry items. On average I carry my cell phone, keys, my wallet, a Swiss Army Spirit, and a Zire 71 PDA. I am looking for a good way to carry all these items, and was wondering how everyone else delt with their everyday utlities. Pocket space is a precious thing. I was looking at Nite Ize products, but those will not land you very many dates to be frank. They are pretty large haning off a belt. Any help, recommendations or especially links would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for stealing the spotlight of this thread, but I couldn't justify starting a new one so close to the same topic. Thanks -Bill

I carry a lot of stuff in my pockets every day. Well, *I* think it's a lot. My own issue is not so much weight or bulk as some of my stuff getting damaged by other stuff.

In my front right pocket, I carry my wallet (slim 'card case' type) and a Zippo (I don't smoke but you never know when you need to start a fire - or light a cigarette for a pretty woman!). I clip my knife-of-the-day to the top of my right pocket (I'm a grad student, so I usually only carry my Spyderco Meerkat, a 2"-blade folder, but I carry 3"-blade folders on weekends or off-campus).

In my front left pocket, I carry a Leatherman Squirt P4 and a tiny sewing kit in a little leather pouch I made myself out of Tandy Leather Company components (a paracord fob is tied to the Squirt). Also in this pocket is a bandana or hankerchief and my flashlight of the day - usually an Inova X1 or an 8-LED Chinese-made aluminum flashlight from lighthound.com

I keep my keys on a carabiner clip I clip to a belt loop, or place in my backpack when I'm on campus. On my keyring is a Photon microlight, a compass-whistle-thermometer from REI, a military-style can opener, and 2' of 550 paracord in a Chris Reeve knot.

I carry a cell phone in a belt-clip carry case. If I'm at school, it's in my bag with a Leatherman Wave. If I'm out and about, I'll clip it to my belt or the top of my left front pocket.

I always think of getting some kind of belt carry case, but I've never found one that didn't make me feel funny, like I'm wearing a utility belt or something!

You could check out Maxpedition's belt pouches. I believe they make three sizes, and they have good pics on their site, or you can look at one of the many places that sells their gear.

When I'm on my own time, I carry a multitool on my belt (the Surge these days). On my key ring I always have a tiny SAK (Classic?), a Swisstech Utili-key, and a small LED Garrity light. In my left pocket is a small 2.5"X3.5" notebook and a neat telescoping pen. The wallet goes in back.

I work at a school where it would not really be appropriate to carry a knife or tool on my belt, so attached to the key clip in my school bag (a cycle courier bag, which I am rarely without), I have a small ditty bag which contains an old style LM Wave, a Bic lighter, and a few other useful items.

Hey Guys..

Democopy...

I've used the same Nite-Ize "Pockits" tool holder for about 6 years or so...And I've used it alot. It carries a Leatherman Wave,Inova X5T, Sak Outrider,Army Size Firesteel, snare wire, para cord and thin nylon woven string.

It's plenty durable, has been kicked around, abused and well used through Scouts, hunting trips and has No holes, and velcro still works...

As far as I'm concerned, it's a Very well made pouch and still going strong...
Something a little larger would be nice though,, it's pretty crammed...

I`ll second the Maxpedition series. A range of sizes, tough as needed and fairly priced.

Hi democopy,
I had a custom leather clip-on sheath made for my Leatherman Wave a couple of years ago. Sheath fit the tool like a glove, literally. It was meant to so the tool won't fall out. Once I broke it in, the tool was easier to remove. Workmanship was excellent, and so was customer service. The maker indicated that he could make special order sheaths.
Only problem is that when I have tried to contact him by e-mail recently to order a sneath for another tool, I have been unable to. There is a phone number on the web site however, but I have not had time recently to call it.
Maker is Richard Dix and site is, I think, www.dixleatherworks.com. If not, I type in dixleatherworks and it is usually the first site listed.
There are nice pictures of the sheaths he makes for multitools and Mini Maglights, and I am sure he would be able to help you with your request.
Hope this is helpful,
Neil
