Bench made, gerber or extramarital ratio

Hey fellow knife geeks. I've been look into buying a new knife. The two major contestants wer the new bench made 7505-132 and the extrema ratio fulcrum II D. I would also consider one of the combat 06 or auto DMF gerbers because they're made in the USA. But I wasn't sure which one would be best.

The extrema ratio is made in Italy and the bench made is obviously made in the US. But I really like the super thick blade on the fulcrum. I also like the looks of the bench made and the automatic feature. I understand gerber doesn't really fall into the same category as the other two but I jst thought they all 3 seems to be hard use knives.

My perfect knife is a knife with a thick blade, is a folder , is made out of a ware resistant stainless steel, has a pocket clip, DEFINITELY DOESNT HAVE A LINER LOCK. Most other locks are fine. Preferably a titanium handle but if not it's no big deal and it needs to be under $500.

I hope you guys have some helpful suggestions so I can stop searching the internet for 3 hours a day looking for the perfect knife. THANKS GUYS!

Sounds to me like you want a Strider SMF. It has a 3/16 inch thick blade with a titanium frame lock and can be found in CPM-154 and CPM-S30V. $475 unless you get higher end handle scales.

Haha, hilarious typo in the thread title. I suggest checking out the Umnumzaan and Sebenza 25 as well.

The 750 MPR was a decent knife but a brick in the pocket, this 7505 looks like it would be a cinder-block!

May I ask why you want a thick blade? If it's for toughness when penetrating then check out the Tanto Umnumzaan.

Style-wise I'd say the Striders are closer to the Benchmade and the CRKs are closer to the Extrema. In my opinion Benchmade Gold class are overpriced as the F&F isn't much beyond the standard Benchmades. I have zero experience with Extrema ratio.

I had a good laugh at the extramarital ratio autocorrect. Anyways, depending on where you are you may not be able to carry the Sibert collab due to laws. If you can more power to you. I'd get a Strider SMF or SnG or an Emerson of sorts (the HD-7 or 12 comes to mind) or a Sebenza. In all honesty there's a lot of knives that meet your requirements soooo

Yeah, tell us more about why you like these two! I have a feeling you might get a lot of views on this thread and could get some great advice.

Ya I just now realized I made a typo in the title. I'm thoroughly embarrassed. And I live I'm ohio if it helps anyone make suggestions. I was suprised you guys responded so fast you guys are awesome keep the suggestions coming!!

And I want a thick blade because I think they're very capable of doing many tasks. I have thin blades and they have their advantages as well but I don't have and thick bladed folders, only fixed blades ( mostly T.O.P.S. Which I love) and I've heard peopls call the extrema ratio fulcrum "the pry bar of folders" which gave me a good impression that it's a stout thick knife which is what I'm looking for.

And if the 7505 and 755 mpr are considered bricks them that's exactly what I'm looking for. Something unnecessarily overbuilt.

What is the proper extramarital ratio anyways? 1 wife to 1 mistress? 1 to 2? 1 to 5?

I am surprised they haven't been mentioned yet but Zero Tolerance makes a good heavy duty folder. 560, 550, 566 to name a few.

Benchmade adamas sounds up your alley, exept its d2 steel which is almost stainless. But it's coated and should be fine. It's a tank of a knife!

+1 on the ZT suggestion, several of their models seem to tick all your boxes. 300, 560, 550.

Since you're looking at Benchmade, the Adamas might work for you. It's got a thick blade and strong lock (but the blade is D2, not stainless but close and it's coated).

Love me my Strider sng. Get one.

I don't know if it is an auto you are looking for but the BM Adamas 275 that has already been mentioned also is available as an auto axis 2750. It is beefy in either form with a .160" thick blade, .080" thick liners, a beefed up pivot, and axis bar. Total weight ~7.7 ounces.

btw, many of the axis lock knives have somewhere between .040-.050 inch thick liners.

if you like the angular design and thick blades of the ER Fulcrum and BM 7505, check out the Boker Plus Federal. Bladesteel is 440C, but Boker does a great job with it.

Extrema ratio are good knives and you can go for it you like it.
They use a good steel and the assembly uses high quality standards.
I think they can outmatch benchmade standards when it comes to heavy duty knives mainly because they are design in a simpler way ( less mechanisms inside the knife make it less probe to failure IMHO )

Considering the price of the BM one would favors the ER

However ER are not cheap either and when I was considering to buy one, I have preferred to go for a ZT:
Heavy construction, strong design, limited mechanisms (and speed safe is fine for my standards), and good value for the money

ZT 550 all the way, all day long. That thing is a superb knife. I can't really say enough good things about it.

I favor d2 over many metals because I have a custom crusader forge made of it and that stuff is very impressive. I've never had any corrosion resistance problems but I take very good care of it because it was 1300$. But I like the Adamas, especially the auto but I'm jst having a hard time deciding which one to buy. I haven't found a knife with a thicket blade than the ER. It's blade is 6mm( .236 Inches) thick so that's why I'm leaning towards that one but at the same time it's only about $400 and some of the others are more expensive and more popular making me think they're better quality. And what's your guys' opinion on POHL FORCE?

Is the ZT 0300BW a beefy knife? I hear what you guys are saying about the 560 and 550 and how good of knives they are which is mainly what I'm looking for but I'm just thinking for this much $ I should get something I also like the looks of and IMHO I think the 550 and 560 are kind of boring.
