Benchmade’s owner has passed away

My passion for knives started when someone gifted me a Griptilian in the mid-2000s, which soon lead to the Benchmade Forums and more Benchmades. My story is far from unique, which goes to show the legacy he built. He created a great company, with a wonderful interactive culture for their fans, and some great knives.

He will be missed, but it is good to know that his legacy will live on in what he built.

Man, another knife legend gone. We've lost some great guys over the past few years. AG Russell, 2018. Pete Gerber, 2019. ... and now Les de Asis, 2020.
 
Wow. I think I may still have the first knife magazine I ever read his name in back in the early 80's.
Hell of a ride.
