Just got a Benchmade 917 triage with s30v steel and plain satin edge for my son (police officer and volunteer fireman).

Any thoughts or opinions about this knife?

I've owned the manual version with Sheepsfoot blade going on 5+ years and have carried it nonstop for about the first 3. Excellent knife that has never let me down. It carries a little big in the pocket, so I primarily keep it in a Med pouch that rides in my car with me now. Only maintenance I've had to do is blow it out with compressed air and add some blue lube to keep it able to be swung open and shut by the axis lock. This is definitely still one of my favorite knives and have been contemplating upgrading to the auto model.
