This is not a ligament site. Offer Benchmade knives at a huge discount but when ordering and receiving it was not at all what I ordered. When contacting the seller they claim it is correct and only refunded $20. Scam do not buy

Sorry to hear that happened to you. Unfortunately these types of scam sites come and go rather frequently, with new ones starting up as soon as the known ones go down.

Some things to watch out for when purchasing from a new, potentially scam website:
  • Heavily discounted prices on many or all products. If the deal is too good, it probably isn't real.
  • In stock status of many discontinued and hard-to-find items. Sometimes looking for out of stock items can be a true indicator of stock status.
  • No contact information. Many scam sites won't list a physical address or phone number. Or they may list a false address that you can verify with Google Maps.
  • Grammatical and spelling errors. A lot of scam sites are not US-based and English may not be their first language.
  • Stock photos stolen from other retailers. Sometimes scam sites will be lazy and grab pictures that include a watermark from legitimate but not related retailers.

You can also check to see if a website you are looking to purchase from is an authorized dealer of that knife brand. For Benchmade, use the Benchmade Dealer Locator here: https://www.benchmade.com/find-a-dealer.html

I ordered one Benchmade and was sent a different model.
I contacted them and I accepted a $10 refund and a small discount on another purchace, and kept the first knife.
I ordered a different Benchmade under those terms.
Once again they sent a different model than what was ordered.
I give up. No more Benchmadediscount.com for me.

I would be highly concerned about the authenticity of anything purchased from that site.

Don't know for certain, but I am pretty sure that Benchmade enforces minimum sale prices at their authorized dealers. This is why you see the same price at so many of the top retailers. Some might give free shipping or throw in incentives like stickers, pouches, gloves, cheap knives, or whatever as incentive to buy from them without giving a discount.

So when you see every familiar dealer selling the same BM knife for, say, $252 and someone else has it for $179, and both are BNIB, that is a pretty good indication that something is off on the cheaper site. Could be that a legitimate dealer has some old stock priced at, say, $239 and they are cleaning it out for that price. Not likely to be a big difference in prices, though.

Another thing might be to find the contact address on the sale site, then look it up on online maps. Might be a field, a shack, or a crack house, so that might tell you something. Do the satellite view and street view if you can.

That, and none of the stated specs will be real. There's no way they are giving you S90V. It's probably a melted down teakettle from some poor farmer in rural China.

Dispute it with your CC company. Tell them what happened and that you believe it's a scam sight. Do not accept their credit or any other terms.
