Benchmade Fakes, knock-offs, counterfeits thread...

Few different posts in here https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/inserting-pics-from-phone-to-bladeforums.1519291/

Essentially you goto an image hosting site or app and upload your photo to it. Then take the link and paste the link here. If you can find a direct link to the image ending in. .jpg or. .png or whatever it is, then you can embed it using the image icon on the forum toolbar.

Did this work ?

Those links work. Someone else will have to comment on its validity, as I've not researched that model for clones.
Not sure if it will help but the number under the butterfly looking logo I think says 3550

It looks legit I see nothing that says fake I'm not aware of this model being faked I would say your good.

K just wasn't sure of the logo placement it looks further out on the blade then on the pictures in the benchmade site

That appears to be a genuine Pardue designed 3550S. Great knives, strong kick when opening. Problem is (to me...) how little actual blade is left. And why I've always preferred a PE blade in sub 3" versions.

Both real according to BM. From my research I was thinking the bottom one was possible a fake due to the shallower serrations, no NSN#, different axis deployment jimping.

KnowYourBenchmades has been my golden rule for years. The seller may or may not know, but we have the option to simply back off and not lose money in the process. I wonder just how many of these arrive at the factory for servicing and get tossed. o_O

Did you send both in for verification or show them this photo?

Yes, emailed them the photos. Something look off to you?

Would have thought the same as you that bottom one might be a clone. Did they say the bottom one was the earlier version? I've seen serrations on BM'S like that from 90s/00s, so that would be my guess. The coating always looks off on the clones, too glossy looking. And both of those 5000s handles appear to have the powdery coated finish.

Actually as I understand the response, the top one was the older version. Here is what they said, "Both are real. One is just older and has the older marking plus the three piece lock stud. The extra mark behind the 154CM on one is the BK for BenchKote coating which was put on the blades for many years."
