Benchmade Mini Crooked River Review (with comparisons to full size)

Bought the Mini Crooked River recently, and made a review about it. I own both the full size and Mini and the Mini is my favorite of the two. It translates all the looks to a more pocketable every day carry friendly knife. My reviews aren't the standard table top video review- I spend about 8 hours editing, shooting and writing them. I use them, discuss ergonomics, and throw in some satire and self depreciating humor too. Rated PG-13 language and humor so beware.

I’m not a big Benchmade fan but the miniCR is the one that I’m most likely to pick up.

Loved your review.

I bought the Bugout based on your review here. I'll buy the MiniCR if they offer it in the gray G-10 later on.

Nice review, you have a good sense of humour, but I do agree with the less swearing the better aspect as I'll watch youtube videos and hear some words that are not quite family rated, not yours, but others, and if the grandkids are about it does make me cringe and reach for the mute button asap...

Glad to see the comparison of the two, as I had the original one a while back but found it was too large for my edc needs, but this one seems to be a bit more handy in that respect.

I did a small review of the original model that I had seen here in this thread

Any word on when these smaller versions will be released??

It's a pretty nice looking knife.

Gray G10 would also be nice looking in the mini too- I agree.

I think they're all out now... at least most are. I scour eBay because smaller retailers often offer them up earlier than the big guys. Which is how I got this one so early.

Lateck,

If you don't have any weight requirments, or you work at a place where a 4 inch blade is socially acceptable- the full size is great. I'm a tech who works in hotels, where people wear suits... over 5 ounces is too heavy for a suit jacket, and the 4 inch blade is overkill for tape, boxes, and cutting food.

I was able to handle a mini CR at a shop yesterday. It was hard to put down. Other than a slightly uneven grind, the fit & finish was fine. This may be the best thing BM has on the market right now and it could end up in my pocket this year.

Nope. The best thing BM has on the market right now is the full size Crooked River! :p

Very tempted but what is the thickness behind the edge bevel?
