What can you folks tell me about it? Handled one today and fell in love. Gonna try to find one after blade is over.

October? if i'm not wrong that's the blue handled Osborne 940, no? heheh, well, if it is, *whew*

i love this knife. i bought mine from Tique on the forums after owning a number of red handled ones and a regular green handled 940. it's just a matter of preference for me, i'm a total sucker for knives with blue anodized handles.

i lost the link for a BM 940 review that i could've sworn i read on these forums. hmm, perhaps another forum member can help you with that. i'll just give you my basic impressions of the 940: i like axis locks, i haven't had one fail on me yet, they're really fast opening, and just clever imho. the handle design is comfortable to me (i have long fingers) and the reverse tanto blade is very durable. i'm terrible at sharpening knives; i can only touch them up on my sharpmaker, making the 940 even better as one of my EDCs...the 154cm blade holds an edge well.

just found this:

apparently this guy's 940 is taking a BEATING! i doubt my 940 will ever see this kind of hard use, but i feel good knowing that it could. i'm really not great at knife reviews, but these are just my impressions. hope it helped somewhat.

Here's another thread on the October KOTM:
http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/002678.html
Remembered the thread, but had to search the archives for it. Alot of stuff got archived when some changes were made to the forums not long ago.

The blue 940 is my favorite BM, and aside from the Sebenza, it's probably my favorite production folder. Great "little" knife-1st time I ever bought two of the same knife, though I sold my spare (sounds like you've got it, now, Aaron

).
I got to check out the 942 the other day, and I really like it in black, too (nothing wrong with the green, but both the blue and black versions look alot better, IMO).
If you want a blue one, better take it where you can find it, and don't wait. There is a limited run of blue 940s with BT2 coated blades going around right now, too.

Yeah, my little 940 is taking a bit of a beating.

The above link was to my second review of the knife.

That's the link to my original review, back in March I think it was. The 940 became my utility beater simply because I had an extra one after finishing my "940 Rainbow" (ie, blue, green, red, black) I have to say it made an impression. Great little knife.

A.G. Russell has a supply of the Blue 940's. I got one and it is a fine piece. Get one before they are all gone!

oh well,i got one!

Roger at Bayou LaForche has some new Blue handled 940's. It seems Benchmade made a run of 200 plain edge and 200 serrated edge 940's. I already have mine coming.

This is another run of blue 940. The KOTM was available only with plain edge/satin finish.
These are plain or combo/BT2 coated.
BM has been known to make KOTMs into regular production items, too

Easyrider borrowed my green 940 to try it out. His after action report on the BM Forum is humorous reading. Sniper has put his 940 through more hard (ab)use than Army field trials. Great knife.
