Any quick recommendations.
I'm leaning toward Cold Steel

My free old 3J hawk with a longer 15" handle throws great. Believe it or not, my estwing hatchet throws well. I'd thin out the grind on it if I was to throw it a lot though.

Probably not the most popular opinion here, but I prefer to buy cheap little throwing hatchets off of BudK. You get 5-10 for the price of one nice hawk that way, and you can afford to miss and lose or break a few. The little ones throw more like knives, but they're fun. I've had some I could reliably stick from 50 feet away.

That's true. I'm not sure how often I'll be able to throw them so I'd like to sharpen whatever I end up with and maybe some leather work.
I'm always looking for a project.
CRKT looks good but the price for the cold steel is really cheap.
