Best bushcraft multi tool?

I'd recommend a Leatherman Super Tool 300 or Rebar.. Both equipped with a saw, an awl and a file. Good luck!!!

Another vote for the Leatherman Super tool.I have used mine hard for the last 15 1/2 years and it has never failed me!I have used it for everything you can think of in bushcrafting except battoning. I have gutted and skinned several whitetails with it just to see if I could.Works great at gutting but is not the best tool for skinning. I supplement my fixed blade with it.

I like my Victorinox Pioneer/Harvester, has several wood working tools (awl, main blade, pruner blade, wood saw) at less than half the weight of multi-tool (and I don't need all the screw drivers/wire strippers/can openers out in the woods too often).

I would suggest a sak with a saw. Farmer, Hiker, or camper would all fit the bill. Scissors are nice to.

I was thinking it would be cool if someone made a line of multi-tools specifically geared for outdoors/bushcraft. Maybe a stripped down one without a serrated blade or screwdrivers and they would have a small firesteel. I've thought about an SAK but I want the more substantial pliers found on a multi-tool.

Man, it's heavy, but it's hard to beat the Leatherman Surge. I loved that tool. I pack a Skeletool daily and in my ruck rides the Supertool 200. Honestly none have compared to the Surge though. It just feels all around solid.

I like using the leatherman super tool, there are no removable parts!! i have a surge and the little spring falls out all the time, i got tired of always looking for it and calling leatherman, they sent me some replacement springs but what happens when your out in the bush and the spring falls out? so I replaced my surge with my new supertool!!

When I think of "bushcraft," it's usually a lot of knife-heavy work. Whittling, carving, ect. Most full-sized multitools are uncomfortable to use as a knife for extended periods. For me, a SAK or Leatherman Juice (make sure that it has a saw and awl) are a good trad-off when it comes to knife comfort and tool selection. The Juice KF4, for me, is the perfect bushcraft multitool.

A full sized multi tool, i prefer my swisstool. As an around the yard tool, i prefer my wave. If i'm bringing a lot of gear with me say a gun, bow, knives, fishing etc, i bring my surge. If im just hiking and dont need the pliers, i'll bring my huntsman lite or swisschamp, depending on if i'm going to cook or start a fire. :-)

If you're walking for any long distances, Vic Farmer. Much lighter and more compact than a full sized plier based MT but it has most of the tools you would need and is solid as a rock.

Your biggest question is do you need pliers? If you can get by without them, then I'd go with a Trekker or Farmer.

Thank you for helping! Due to some unforseen circumstances, I cannot purchase a new multi-tool and have to stick with my winchester.
