Time for some new cargo shorts, I seem go through them like crazy, either break the zipper, or wear holes in them. I usually just try to find them on sale somewhere, since I figure they aint gonna last long. I'm tempted to buy a pair of Tilley "Classic" shorts, $89, ouch, (with the doublebum layer) they have a lifetime warranty apparently, but I think it only applies to the Classic model, but they are a bit short, I like the longer cargo types.

In terms of a garment that can withstand BRUTAL abuse, you can't go wrong with any Tin Cloth garments. You'll see there is actually a double-thickness of the heavy cotton material across the front of the thighs.
The other shorts made of Shelter Cloth and Cover Cloth are both lighter and will be somewhat cooler but not be quite as strong. Take your pick, any of them would be a great choice. These loops on these shorts can all handle heavy gunbelts that folks like us tend to purchase. I'm going to see if they possibly go on sale later this month.

I recommend exofficio clothing highly. There features are extremely well thought out and they are very rugged and light. They are not inexpensive but not quite as bad as Filson or Tilly. Try imsplus,they have bdu shorts,and bdu cargo shorts listed.They are Mil-spec I believe,and made 100% in the USA.Reasonable prices also.
