I'm looking to finish my collection of standard sub-$100 EDC blades. (Mini Grip, Grip, Delica, Endura, Skyline, Leek, Rat 1, Rat 2, SOG Flash i and ii, M16, Tenacious, Persistence, EL-01, SRM 710, Opinel #8, Vic Pioneer, Vic Cadet)
Side Note: Is there anything else I should add to that list?

The M16s are all pretty cheap so price doesn't matter

The only restrictions that I have are:
1. Black handle
2. Satin blade (not black painted, stone washed, acid etched, etc.)
3. Not crap steel (8cr13mov is lowest; 440c, AUS-8 or better preferred)

I'm not sure if the Tanto or Spearpoint would be better on this knife. I don't have any tanto blades.

I would recommend the CRKT Mah Eraser. It is an AUS-8 reverse tanto styled blade with incredible action. It has some highly regarded reviews so I would check it out.

Which ever one doesn't come with the stupid, dangerous, and pointless "double flippers". I had an M16 and luckily the screws fell out of the handles before I could carry it any further and hurt myself.

As for your list, you're missing an Ontario Utilitac II and ZT 0350 blem. Both of which I just happen to prefer to the blades you already have.

I'd recommend looking into Fox knives, they got some great well made folders, I like the Harrier but they got many makes and styles.

I appreciate the suggestions, I'll definitely look into the Utiliac and 0350 (although if I raise the price ceiling to ~120 I'll have to buy a PM2 too :D)

I'd still like some help choosing a CRKT M16.

I like the Aluminum scale M21 models. Basically an M16 with a recurve. If you want a M16, you're mostly limited to Tantos unless you like the smaller EDC versions, where you can get the spear point. I would either forgo the double flipper models , as the flipper on the spine side is pointless. I have one, but ground off the back flipper within a week. If you have the money, the titanium models are great, but the serrated models aren't my cup of tea, unless they're the veff serrations.

I hope this helps. Don't listen to the folks that tell you not to buy an M16 or M21. Both models are rock solid performers.

If it were not for your restrictions, the CRKT M-21 02 (smaller version) or M-21 04 (larger version) is a pretty hard to beat knife for the average Joe. I have the M-21 02 in pocket as I type.

It looks like it meets the restrictions (besides the M16 part :P [is that what you meant?])

I don't really like half-serrations either and the veffs look like a huge pain to sharpen. I don't really care how large the blade is (I think I actually favor shorter blades). I don't really think tantos are that useful for doing real things. They're really blocky and awkward to cut with IMO.
Is the only difference between the M21 and the M16 the recurve? I might end up buying both; chances are they won't get carried a lot, but it'd be nice to try all of the reasonably cheap, popular edc blades.

I would take a look at the titanium handled M16-01T it is the spear point with no serrations. I am not a big fan of Americanized Tanto knives so take that into consideration.
