I've heard that Duracell is not good because they tend to corrode quicker than Energiser. Is this true? What about light intensity? Would they be about par?

After a VERY bad experience with Energizer (BAD corrosion) in a 3D Maglite, I only use Duracell.

Sadly, after I was done opening that Mag, it had to be retired. :(

So far, I haven't had any problems with Duracell.

Odd I have never had a Duracell go bad. We used to use Energizers at work and had 3 case where the batteries leaked so we stopped using them. Now we use Procell (Duracell) and haven't had a leak in over 4 years.

In any case I would recommend a light that uses lithium cells is you are worried about storage or leakage. Alkalines only have a shelf life of about 2 years and warm and cold will tend to shorten that, and also increase the likelihood of leakage in any alkaline battery.
