Best Folding Knife for Bushcraft, Campcraft, and EDC?

You read the title. What is the best folding knife for bushcraft, campcraft, and EDC?

I've heard good things about the Benchmade Griptilian (especially the Ritter Grip) and 710, as well as the Spyderco Paramilitary 2, Military and Manix 2. I noticed that these knives go out of stock a lot. How often do they get back in stock?

The knife has to be durable and able to take a lot of abuse. Any recommendations that I like I'll try and get to handle.

Thanks,

- Neilioli

Remember, I hate serrations and like G10 and S30V.

Depends do you want a folder or fixed blade, whats your price range?

I always use folders. Price isn't really an issue, most folders that I'm looking at are around $100-$200, because I'd be afraid to actually use anything more expensive than that.

Ok then what you've named are are good choices but focusing mor e on the bushcraft aspect you mentioned I'd look into the Enzo birk line of knive, as well, some other good all around option would be the buck vantage pro in s30v

It fits all of your criteria except for its price point and steel variant....the Ontario Rat 1 folder (AUS8) in satin/pe. It's only 30 bucks.

So, when you decide what more expensive folder you'd like for these purposes, also pick up a Rat 1. It's a great knife and would make an excellent back-up/beater.

I like SAKs and slipjoints with multiple blades for outdoors use (when for some reason I just can't have a proper fixed blade).

Swiss army knives don't have a great blade steel, I'll give you that, but the blade and edge geometry are great and the extra tools take some stress from the main blade. A simple model like the Farmer or Electrician Plus (my favourite) gives you a very functional wood saw and a great awl. If you prefer a bit more blade and a lock, the larger models are awesome, too. I've used a few different one hand opening SAKs from both Wenger and Victorinox (I modified my Vics to a plain edge). They are tougher than they seem, and if you do break one Victorinox will fix or replace it. No super steels or cool handle materials, though.

Carbon steel slipjoints are another outdoors favourite of mine. I've used mostly Case and GEC knives. Patterns like the Trapper and Stockman have two or three blades, usually nice and thin for good cutting. I've used one of the large GEC trappers and it's a tank, Case trappers are lighter but well built as well. I'm rather fond of awls so I sometimes go for something like a harness jack or one of those stockman knives that have an awl instead of the spey blade.

Dude. Here is the best advice I can give you about knives. It seems like you are opening a thread each time an idea pops into your head. What, like 6-7 threads on similar subjects in the last 2 days?

Here's the advice: stop it. Read/digest the threads you have opened. The people were nice enough to give you advice in them. Take it. Read other threads. Read. Read. Read. Go to different subforums here. When you get there: read, read, read.

You are not getting yourself anywhere. Focus.

(Also, people may tire of the constant thread opening on very similar subjects. Makes them feel like you are ignoring their replies. It has happened before to people who do the same thing.)

Id second the swiss army knife and would recommend a camper model. small and has a saw. also only 25$ so you could still get a mini grip to go with it for under 100$.. Just my .02. As for other knives I would recommend most kershaws especially the us made ones but don't discount the value of the china ones as they are some great knives ( especially the chill IMHO). have a 1745 which is my fav but discontinued.

You read the title.
A little pompous there, junior...

This is based on? Right now Benchmade will make you a custom grip in addition to several models selling right now. Benchmade.com is not showing any Grips out of stock.
SpyderCo is listing Para's AND Manix 2's and XL's right now.
Your statment is inaccurate.

Remember, I hate serrations and like G10 and S30V.
Here you imply that we should all have some foreknowledge of this? Maybe drop the self entitlement schtick and ask:
What's a good quality folder I can use for wilderness skills, carry everyday, in s30v with G10 scales?
When somebody gives you the answer, perhaps listen rather than rewording the question 2 hours later in a new thread..:D
Based on your OP, IMHO I'd go with the 710.

How should I know you hate serrations and like G10
If you want to do bushcraft with a knife that can withstand a lot of abuse, you need a fixed blade. Otherwis you'll be crying when your special snowflake gets lock rock

Thank you, marcinek. Saved me the trouble and you were gentle about it.

This is easy. Benchmade 275. None of the knives you listed would be good for bushcraft. Period. Don't do it. Get an Adamas and if your unhappy with it I will take it off your hands. Been looking to get a 3rd one. :) I think Adamas is greek or latin for indestructible and it lives up to it's name.

I agree with this. If you don't like the Adamas, get a HEST/F. If you don't like the HEST/F, get a ZT0560. If you don't like the ZT0560, get a ZT0200.
If you don't like any of those, we probably can't help you, because you are too picky! :)

I get the impression the OP is a kid (talks a lot about boy scouts), so I made it a point to go easy on him too. However, I think the constant posting is going to reach critical mass.... He has, what, 4 or 5 different posts asking about the same 3 blades?

You wrote the title... Then you wrote that we read the title... Then you reiterated the title... Then I wrote this...

..So, you want a non-synthetic handle and a soft steel?
How about we end this discussion with you buying a Mora, and if that does not satisfy you, go with the suggestions above.

Apparently 15. And yes people have been banned for it. Actually Chris Farms (also in this teens) has been banned repeatedly for it. Keeps coming back to do it again.
