Best multi-tool for carrying in your pocket?

It all depends on what tools you need and how much weight/size you can put up with in your pocket or in a pouch off your belt. I used to carry my Leatherman MUT but found it bulky. Now when I need my multitool I usually carry a Charge TTI. Got a Gerber Dime hanging on my backpack too.

I bought a Leatherman Wingman specifically for pocket carry at the office, due mainly to its size and pocket/belt clip. I have a tool kit at my desk, but rarely if ever take it with me over the course of the day, so the Wingman and my EDC knife see most of the action. That's not to say that it's the perfect multi-tool, but it's the only one I consider truly EDC. I have other multi-tools, some which get used once in awhile and others that either lacked some critical feature or are too bulky.

I have a Juice, a Skeletool, AND a Charge. I use them for different things, but I use the Charge more than the others because it has more tools. I think the Skeletool is a good EDC for people that aren't big enthusiasts, but I don't carry it as much as I thought because I don't want to displace one of my nice folders. My plan was to carry the Juice in my left pocket and one of my good folders in my right pocket, and I do that sometimes but I carry a lot of stuff and the Juice has to fight for space.

Get the Skeletool CX, the 154 cm is way better than 420. And I find it just the right size, the juice is to small

The skeletool CX is just the right size for the pocket, however, I prefer to carry mine in a leather pouch.

On the weekends I have my Leatherman Charge TTi. Midweek I carry the Gerber Dime, having replaced the Leatherman CS or PS or whatever.

I carry a Wave with the pocket clip installed. I clip the Wave inside my waistband behind my right hip. This way it doesn't take any room in my pockets and I don't even notice it until I need it for whatever reason.

I like carrying the Leatherman Squirt PS4 with me, I keep it in a small pouch that zippers up, it's designed for SD cards. Inside of that, I also carry mini-tweezers and a cotton cloth to wipe the blade if needed. I'm not gonna lie though, you would be better off with a medium to large size multi-tool.

That's just a rolled up shop towel next to the Leatherman Squirt PS4, it keeps it from moving around. The tweezers above, I keep in the zippered pocket on the left hand side.

I carry a leatherman sidekick and leatherman style ps, plus a victorinox recruit joining the ps on my keychain if you want to count the vic as a multitool. The skeletool carbon is cool for the steel and if you like cf. but if you like Ti or want something better than 420hc like 154cm or s30v check out the charges

The PST is the best one for pocket carry as far as size and weight are concerned. Its not as modern as it lacks OHO tools and tools accessible without opening the handles, but its still a very useful tool IMO. I have a Wave with a pocket clip and am very fond of it, but it is large and heavy for pocket carry as far as I am concerned. Some folks have no problem pocket carrying a tool that size though.

I generally prefer to belt carry a Leatherman in a sheath, if pocket carry is a priority I much prefer a Victorinox.

I would consider a Tinker or one of the alox models like the Pioneer, Electrician, or Farmer depending on your tool requirements.

I carried a Tinker for many years, but have recently been carrying a Farmer.

How do you not cut yourself holding it like that ?

Ken

If you don't need pliers, I'd suggest the Micra. I work in an office and I use the Micra's scissors all the time. In fact, if push came to shove, I could get by with just a Micra and a pair of ordinary office shears for all my cutting needs.
