Best Multi-tool with scissors?

I use my SAK's scissors all the time, but also carry my SwissTool, and use that for everything else. So I got to thinking  ... which Multi-tool has the best scissors, without sacrificing the full size utility of my SwissTool. I would like to stick to Leatherman or Victorinox, but would consider other brands. There are a lot of options, and I would love some help sorting through them. Any help from my forumites would be appreciated.

Thanks,

"Has the best scissors" is a rather open ended question when you think about it. Best scissors for what exactly? What do you plan on cutting with the scissors?

Thanks,

Interesting question. Generally, the Victorinox SAK scissors are best all around; sharp, thin, precise, tough enough for toenails. They are best for SAK type knives, but seem out of place on the Swisstools that have them, where they are less than robust for the heavier duty expected of pliers-based multi-tools. However, if you like the Vic scissors, it seems the Swisstool X would be a no-brainer. Probably the toughest of multi-tool scissors is on the Surge, but it is thicker and because of that can't quite get those more precise cuts easily done with the Vic. As for Leatherman, the Wave/Charge scissors may seem small and delicate, but I have found them to be stronger and more capable than I thought at first. I would rate them just behind Vic for all around utility. Or, you could carry a Style CS as a supplementary scissors-based tool. The CS scissors are decent enough and it would also give you additional implements.

Mainly everything from hang nails, broken blisters, loose hanging threads, twine, anything that might come up on the trail. Anytime that a knife just would not be safe or appropriate. Are the scissors on the multi tools similar to the SAK's?

I love the scissors on my Leatherman Surge. They are bigger and tougher than the Wave etc. scissors.

The thicker bladed scissors that typically come on multitools are great for the tougher stuff like zip ties, etc but seem to lack on the more delicate cuts like you describe. I've had new Micra and Style CS scissors just chew away at a hangnail, thread or piece of cotton patch without cutting it. It's annoying, and in my examples the tips of the scissors don't even touch so no detail cutting capability with the tips.
Never had that issue with the Vic scissors that come on their slipjoints or the Swisstool RS. The small scissors on the squirt and style ps can work on those things but still not as well as the Vics.

Clearly, SAK scissors are best for the purposes you describe. BTW, I am much more the Leatherman guy, but I see no reason to not carry both.

I'm not a huge Gerber multitool fan, but the Fiskars inspired scissors on my Diesel are as good as Leatherman scissor, and are approaching Victorinox quality

I don't have personal experience with their full size multitools, but the scissors on my Gerber Dime are excellent.

For full size multitools, I prefer the scissors on my Leatherman Blast, which have also been excellent. I get more use out of the Gerber Dime though, because it is with me more often.

The Swisstool RS has scissors. That's what you need. Its expensive, but it gives you the big utility of the Swisstool plus the awesome Victorinox scissors.

The Victorinox scissors are way ahead of the rest of the pack in terms of precision. In my view, nothing else comes close. If you were going to be cutting canvas all day - assuming you couldn't use real scissors - the Surge has big and beefy scissors. But for everyday usage, and especially detailed work like hangnails, skin boo boos, etc., I think that the Victorinox scissors (from the Classic SD to the Swisstool) are easily the best.

This does sound like the tool I need to get! Thanks all for the helpful replies!

Cover all your bases. LM Surge + Vic Classic. Or for just about every possible situation you might run into, Surge + Minichamp. Big honkin' shears, blades, pliers, bit driver, and extra-fine scissors, blades, nail file, tweezers, and pen.

I have not had much experience with Vic. But I have to say the leatherman scissors on little tools like squirt and style are the bomb. I use them for everything from fingernails to zip ties. The tiny style on the keychain is hardly noticeable and will pair very nicely with any full size multi. Personally I pair it with a skeletool cs.

Thanks for the suggestions - I am still looking and reviewing all of the great options out there. There are just so many good possibilities.

Don't worry you will go down the same path of addiction as I did. Good luck to you and may your wife be forgiving....
