Well, as the hours to this year wind down what does everyone think was the best production knife for their needs released in 2001.

Without question for me it was the C69GP Spyderco Temperance w/ the plain edge, leaf shaped blade. For more on this fine design see my review here

I'm sure we will see a wide range of responses of different blade styles and manufactures since we all have different needs for our knives.

For me it's the William Henry Icon. Its their first totally ambidextrious knife which is a big deal to a lefty like me.I can't wait to see how they apply their new Matt-lock system next year.
Mike :) :) :)

My thoughts are as follow:

1) Most unusual- Spyderco Gunting (although the REKAT Escalator was released a couple of years prior)

2) Best Overall- Spyderco Temperance Jr.

3) Blackest Award- Cold Steel Recon 1

4) Personal Favorite- Emerson P-SARK

Count me in for another vote for the WH Icon. This is as close to custom as production is going to get!

In the "bang for the buck" category, lotsa good choices. I'd have to say its a close tie between the Camillus EDC and the CRKT Kasper Professional model. Both are great folders that offer a lot of features for the value.

2nd Place:

C63GP Spyderco Chinook, plain edge. Solid and well designed for a variety of uses. And solid.

Benchmade 941. Axis lock, milled aluminum handles, big enough for almost anything you want to use a folder for, not too big for anything. Great knife.

I will put my vote in for the Fallkniven G-1 Garm Fighter. It's my favorite production knife in my collection.
