What is the paramilitary 2 of box cutters? Something sleek and pocketable, but solid and not built like a $5 gas station pocketknife? I've seen a lot of people with Milwaukee ones but they seem rather large.

Are you using it in a warehouse or on a construction site?

Warehouse, I normally use my regular knife for most things but there are times when I use the razor knife (cutting things against concrete or metal, stripping long lengths of SO cord when a folding knife has too long of a blade, etc...)

Look no further:)

Gerber EAB

They are thin, cheap, and built of solid steel; no fancy mechanisms or anything. I used many of these when I did stock, worked great.

There are more "custom made" utility blades that will run you $100+, but that's just silly IMO.

little bit of google fu I found this little dude "Rexford Knives RUT V2 Titanium Utility Tool Razor Blade"

not cheap though

This!

I've used one for years. If not doing construction, this is the way to go. In a pinch, it makes a decent gents knife or second blade.

The only problem I have ever had with mine is the clip coming loose. Not a big deal considering that you can just drop the knife in your pocket and forget about it.

One of the few things Gerber got right.

I use the Milwaukee. It really is a good knife. Its lite and flips out with no effort but stays locked until you hit the button and a plus is it has a slot in the handle for cord cutting/wire stripping. All around good knife and its not expensive at all and much better then any ive used before.

If you want something nice get the Rexford Rut if not get a a 15 dollar husky at Home Depot

Check out the Spyderco Pacific Salt SE. A fully serrated H1 blade will out cut anything else Spyderco makes.

For warehouse work, I'd go with whichever utility razor knife best fits your hand and upgrade to premium blades like Lennox Gold.

I favor the large utility knives, something you can get a firm hold on and is large enough that my knuckles don't rub the floor if I am cutting something like carpet. I quite like the non-folding ones. Have both.

I keep seeing these Havalon knives with replaceable blades at my local big box outdoorsy store but haven't picked one up yet, they're for skinning & cleaning game but they look to be similar to a box cutter in that they're stiff replaceable razor blades.

Husky from Home Depot is great, it has a storage compartment in the handle to store extra blades.

Home depot sells a compact Milwaukee model for 9 bucks and change. I have two and I cut cardboard everyday. It as well made as the larger models.

This is more expensive than the other options so far, but the Spectrum Energetics Utilizer is a fabulous utility knife:

I...can actually make use of this. Cheap, too. I will be ordering one soon.

^This thing is awesome!

Had one and lost it, decided to get something more serious anyway.

Take a look at Lenox, but just for boxes, hard to beat AEB...
