Important piece of gear for me... need one capable of handling lots of sidewalks, lifting by the handle and bumping in toand protect the old laptop....while being light enough and spacious enough to carry everywhere

Planning on Briggs & Riley and/or Skooba roadster

I only ever saw the Briggs & Riley and was very impressed with the thought that had gone into the design, the quality of the materials and the care of manufacture. The warranty was indicative of confidence in the product and respect for the customer.

I was lucky enough to meet a businessman on the 'tube' (our underground rail) whom had just the bag that I was interested in buying.

The guy was happy to spend his journey answering my questions and he felt that it was the best thing that he'd ever bought, it performed flawlessly, loaded to the gills, lugged, hauled, knocked, jostled and rained on.

Day in, day out, for years!

That apart, I know nothing about them.

Regards,

The best I know of is by Tumi but they are expensive. They have a lifetime guarantee. I have a leather carry on that tore after fifteen years of abuse and they fixed it with no questions asked. It now has 25 years on it and still functionally perfect, even the lining.

I have had a Briggs & Riley rolling bag as my regular business travel suitcase and can attest to it's quality, ruggedness and practicality over seven years of frequent travel by air. As stated elsewhere they have an excellent warranty. You might also check out Brenthaven.

Also go to eBags for a huge selection and comparison shopping/reviews.

My personal rolling computer bag is a Hartman ballistic nylon expandable. Like Tumi and Brenthaven, Hartman is top of the line.

Good luck in your search.
