Best small utility knife (piggybacking a large knife)

I just put in my order for a Plain edge MOD Scorpion, so the direction that my tastes lean ought to be obvious, but I'm curious what this forum thinks the blade geometry for a small utility knife that will be piggy backing along with a large knife ought to be.

I've owned several small neck knives, a Camillus D2 Arclite, a CRKT Neck PECK, a CRKT Bear claw, and numerous cheap small knives, and after seeing them is action I decided that I wanted something with the fully belly of the Arclite, and the hooked geometry of the Bearclaw. The only production knife I could find that met that requirement, and that was the size I was looking for, was the MOD Scorpion. I almost compromised for the La Griffe, but decided to give the Scorpion a try instead. I'll admit the look of it bought it some points as well.

What geometry would you want in a knife piggybacking a larger knife? The smaller knife probably isn't gonna need to see much SD work if it's riding next to an RTAK, Battle Mistress, etc. Also, if you can think of any productionknives that better meet my requirements please post them.

If you want a great small utility knife and don't need it for self defense, I would recommend Bark River Knife and Tool or a Scandi knife. They aren't "tactical" knives at all, but they are very nice and tremendously useful. They will handle any task that your larger knife can't perform.

The Becker Necker can be another option, it looks more like the kind of knives you like and you can get it for a good price.

The Scorpion's probably a good choice. I don't like the looks myself, but it is as light and unobtrusive as can be, and still has the different edges you're looking for for utility. You sure did your research, trying out a few very different knives along the way. I hope the Scorpion works out for you.

I piggybacked a Fallkniven F1 onto the sheath of the BK&T Brute and then wrapped the two with 30' of black paracord (550). Then I installed a holder on the Brute sheath to hold a ferrosium rod.
It's a little heavy but you have all the cutability that you could want and are assured of having something to start fires with.
