What flashlight next to your EDC do you put on your nightstand at night. Sub $100 if at all possible.? Regards.

Cabelas guide series. Led's for long burn time, then brighter light for important blinding duties. (not super bright I think about 55 or 60 lumens). I got it for 20$ on sale (the batteries the supplier from china packaged were fake, so they had to switch all the bateries out for sure fire ones, and discounted the flashlights because the packages were opened.

my only surefire is a bit brighter 65 lumens, but it is tied up at the moment.

you can get these cheap surefires for 30$ or less.

On my nightstand is a SF E1e, a Pentagon PX1, and an INOVA T3. Just a few feet away there is a Streamlight Twin Task and a Streamlight Pro Stylus. I take to heart "let there be light."

fenix lights are mostly under 50.00.

i dont typically buy "made in china" products, but the fenix lights are very nice.

most of my lights are surefires, but other than the g2 and g3, most are over 100.00.

I have an Executive E2 w/LED Head and an M4 Devastator. Both are Awesome and over the set $$$ range. I have had a 2C cell MagLite for 15+ years and as flashlights have become more tech-advanced the MagLite was becoming Dim by comparison. A week or so back I received a new LED Replacment Bulb for the 2C cell MagLite and WOW what an amazing Improvement. It just so happens that the MagLite is my new bedside handlamp. Happy New year All!!! ~baba~

Im gonna second the Fenix suggestion.. I have never seen a smaller brighter flashlight than the little P1D.. I hate Chinese made stuff as much as the next guy, but these lights are the bomb.

yes indeed.

i just got a fenix l1t, great little light. slimmer than my surefire e1l, and uses AA batteries.

if one does not want to spend the extra money and effort to get 123's, the fenix is definitely the way to go.

It's tough to beat a Fenix and even tougher to beat a Surefire, but my nightstand (and BOB) flashlights are Innova X5s

I have a couple of Fenix LEDs. One uses a single AA with a click on switch in the back. But, the odd part is the light comes on when you release the switch. Not bad, but odd. The other Fenix uses a single AAA. You twist the head to get different brightness levels and blinking. If you aren't in a hurry and like playing with the twist head you are in luck. I don't care for it. I wouldn't not want to have to rely on it when I'm in a hurry.

I still like my little ARC single AAA LED light. Simple and rugged.

The new SF E2L is very nice. I like to use it with the SF diffuser. Fine brightness and lots of runtime. Without the diffuser
the E2L has very good throw. But, it's pricy about $130.

that was my contention with the fenix tailcaps. it was a momentary off instead of momentary on.

the l1t has the momentary on.

For a nightstand light you want something simple (one power level), bright, and reliable.

Streamlight Strion
Rechargeable with A/C wall and D/C car charger
80 lumens
12,000 candlepower
Found mine for $80 and it's been going strong for 2+ years no problems.

I also have an Arc AAA on a string worn around my neck.

I like my Fenix lights. For my uses, they are a good deal for the money. They might be chinese made, but they are well made. Only thing I dislike is how you change brightness levels.

Another vote for Fenix here. I have a P1D CE on my keychain and a P3D Q5 set to start on turbo beside my bed and a P3D R100 in the car.

My EDC is a Sure Fire E2D and by my bed is a 2-D cell LED Mag Light both are great flashlights; I also keep a Solitare Mag in my pants pocket:) never hurts to have a back-up.
