Best way to dye....

Just got a 651 Buck Pigsticker Nighthawk...13" oal BUT with black and GREEN handle ....I want to take it all black.What is the best way to dye the handle...THANKS
 
It wiil be a user Im afraid paint will flake off...Has anyone here tried it?

Plasti-cote is supposedly robust (at least some of their products, anyway). One of the versions with a plasticizer, like for exterior plastic bumpers, would seem appropriate.

Actually getting plastic, which usually has the color pigment in the plastic itself, to change color by dying seems unlikely. Usually staining occurs when you don't want it to happen.

Benchmade, afterall, uses coatings for many of its alternative colored Grips for a reason, I'd think; and the coating chips.
 
Try a sharpie marker :D

how ever basic and cheap that sounds, depending on the material it can work very well, especially the industrial formula. ive covered my blade in a spot that got the black coating scraped off and after a few weeks its still holding on there fine. for plastic i think it would work well if you let it sit a day after you put it on before even trying to use it.
