I thought it would Donn! The inside says 'Is it a whippet? Is it a flat-cap?...' :D  I'll probably just be drinking tea out of it! ;) You really get around my friend :) Sorry to hear about Imgur :(

Better late than never though! :) Nice knife, and a tasty-looking brew, I've not tried that one

Found it in my local Morrisons so I'm assuming it'll be stocked nationally. Quite nice actually

Some strong brews your enjoying there gentlemen:thumbsup: I was going to say you can tell winter is coming because stouts have started to make an appearance in this thread. But you guys must live in warmer climes :D:thumbsup:
I however, do not. :)

donn donn I do enjoy a stout and have recently been drinking stouts/porters just mixing it up a bit with some pale ale.

Nice pair. Bakelite has been used on some knives, but all I know is black (the bottom one).

Thanks, Jolipapa. I really only know Bakelite from telephones from 60 years ago, and those were all black, too. Is Bakelite subject to shrinkage? Whatever the synthetic used on my Holub electrician, it seems to be shrinking away from the bolster.

...
Cool pics GT

First time I've had a pint in over a week! Nomad Pariah, a 'Hoppy Brown Ale' - was OK

I also picked up a new beverage mug ;) Not that I need one, but it made me laugh, and I thought it might make Donn laugh too! :D ;)

Thanks, Jack. A WEEK without a pint??:thumbsup::thumbsup: I can't remember the last time I went a week without beer! Congrats on your new mug!! :D:thumbsup::cool:

Now that looks an interesting brew  I love wood matured beers.
Imgur is back up for me.

donn, I like the knife and I like the mug, and I'm usually quite happy with a reddish beer!:thumbsup:;)

More Guinness anniversary stout for me.:thumbsup: (I wish the store that sells it to me would update their bottle return machines to accept the bottles, though!:thumbsdown:)

No shrinkage to be feared. The lower is still available, assembled from old stock. :)

ps I dig the humpback stockman. Very pocketable.

Donn That's a fine Etrrick/Swayback you show there, very nice item. Have to say that Porters, stouts, Guinness etc I never got to like much, but I do like an odd Chimay Bleu. I like beers from around the world but I don't see so many real English style IPA/Burton ales. All IPA seems to be this citrusy American interpretation and that like dark beer is not my taste. Nothing wrong with decent Bitter mind!

I enjoy pale ales, IPAs, porters, and stouts year round, but do tend to have the former more in the summer and the latter more in the winter. That being said, I'll gladly accept a pint of a proper British bitter or cask-conditioned real ale any day of the year. :)

Last night I drank the last of my stock of Coronado Guava Islander IPA. It seems quite summery to me, so I thought I should make room in the fridge for more winter seasonals.

The knife is a Craftsman 9494, which is the Craftsman equivalent of the Camillus 72 and was made by either Schrade or Ulster, depending on what I've read.

My apologies for the late replies gentlemen, I decided to work some night shifts to help out at work.

Isn't the Foreign Export a nice brew  It's actually quite hard to find over in the UK. It's only stocked by one supermarket chain (Asda; part of Walmart). Otherwise it's small specialist beer shops you'll find it in.

Nice pint pot.

Cheers! I found it in the rafters of a 400 year old pub I used to manage, covered in about a century of dust. It's obviously not 400 years old but it must be original.

That's a great haul! I hope you enjoyed them.

Only joking about the IPA's folks. By it's nature IPA is meant to be hoppy but I've found, certainly in the past 5 years or so that over here in the UK alot of IPA's have become "overly" hopped. Even some established ales that had been brewed for years had their recipes changed. Some have, to my palate at least, become undrinkable. This obsession with over hopping ales has even crept into the Golden and Pale ale styles of beer.
I'm not sure why I associate dark beers with cold weather; it's probably because I associate pale beers with summer, but over the last few years, I'll drink ruby/copper/dark beers in preference to pale beers regardless of the season.

WhittlinAway I could say the same about U.S beers. These U.S porters and stouts I see on this thread have me salivating over my keyboard.:D Unfortunately the more obscure U.S beers are virtually impossible to find in the UK :( However if any of you want to try British beers in the flesh so to speak then I have some news.
Apparently the "Maine Beer Box" will be attending the Leeds 2018 Beer Festival over here, with 40 Portland beers. The "Beer Box" will then return to the U.S to the Portland Beer Festival with 40 British beers. I don't know where you all live of course but if your anywhere near Portland, and you fancy some British ales on tap, then try it out.

A pint of "Otter Amber" 4%. The Otter Brewery. At The Harp Inn pub, in the village of Little Neston, in the county of Cheshire.
