Beware of online knife store, Blade Gathering, owner/operator Dean Hannemann. I shipped a Phil Harvey Gladius to him for a consignment sale. It had been in pending for months. I requested he ship the knife back multiple times, even called him, leaving a message.

It's been a month and three weeks. At first, I thought perhaps he was injured or sick. I checked his Facebook page, and by the input dates, and also noticed he is working his online store, so I know he's doing fine.

I have filed a report with the feds, provided emails determining a crime had been committed (Internet Fraud), and will soon contact local law. If you do business with Dean Hannemann in any capacity even outside of Blade Gathering, beware...

Sounds a bit suspicious?

I have purchased and had dealing with Dean
Never one issue

I have sent Dean this info so perhaps it can be addressed
and or he can tell his side.

A thief? Strong language to put in writing. Although internet libel may be questionable, the cost of defending against it is not.

If OP has stated the facts accurately, is it something other than theft?
No, but things like screenshot of emails, and other attempts at communications with the vendor or federal agencies (with personal particulars blacked out) would go a long way in showing his credibility.

Yes
Email sent
He responded he would be checking it out.
Nothing further

I'll update after the police detectives update me. People, one of the main functions of my reveal was to protect my brother and sister knife nuts. Some of you make light of my loss. That's shameful. Those of you who know Dean, please do have him respond to my referring to him as a thief. Go to his website - it's virtually shut down - Dean is on the run. I believe he even shut down his Instagram site. His Facebook page is intact, however. If any of you see him, tell him Mak wants his Gladius or his money back.

...yeah, please give Dean a chance to respond to my 'accusations'. He should respond, right? Please contact him about this matter, by all means. What I'm saying is it is what it is - theft. At least that's what his local police department says...

I also have dealt with Dean over the past 20 years, consignment deals included. I was surprised he ripped me off, believe me, because I always thought he was on the up and up. But, a thief is a thief. Noticed he has not defended my referring to him as a thief. That is because he cannot defend against the truth. Yes, I have all of the emails between he and me concerning this matter and I do have pics of my property on his website (before he took his website down) and at my home. Be careful. Why do you guys think he took is website and Instagram site down? Instagram - because I asked why he stole from me, and the website - simply because he's on the run. I have yet to approach him on Facebook. I left that one up to the law. Bottomline, though, if you do business with him, what happened to me can happen to you. Insofar as the number of post, I have posted since 2007 - I post when I have something to say, otherwise, I read. This was an important event that happened to me, and again, I simply don't want it to happen to anyone else.

...just went to bladegathering.com. Deans website did come up after weeks of being down. It is 'clean' with no knives archived or otherwise (for sale).

Dont know the person in question nor the OP but just FYI, when one googles 'blade gathering dean hanneman,' a post from a rip off report site pops up.

Seems a gent sent him a knife in late '17 to be sold on consignment for $1795 - you guessed it, knife vanished and no sign of the dough.

This might actually be the OP.
