It was made famous by a Maratha king "Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj" as he used to assassinate Afzal Khan along a wepon called Bagh naka.

together it forms "bichwa bagh naka"

A similar one was used by assassins and robbers because of its handle it would help them climb up trees and walls with knife in hand.

There's a ton of Indian blades I like the designs of, just...basically nobody sells them in the US. Even companies like Cold Steel that are big on making swords and other historical weapons seem to mostly avoid Indian weaponry, other than the tulwar/talwar sabres.

I really want someone to make some quality hooded katar and a pata. And a khanda. And a tegha. And a...

Yes, exactly my point! I mean, sure, I like tulwars fine, but really, it's just a sabre, not that different from any of the many other sabres out there. Someone really needs to do some of the more distinctive Indian blades like those mentioned.

there is lot of tulwars laying around and still many in making unlike bichwa because of stringent laws yet some places make them in shadows, exporting them is another horror. im trying on exporting soon will break barriers on quality made Indian knives in USA
