found this while searching for a bk14... Is this just a knock off?

The ESEE IZULA is a good little knife in its own right.

I bought one and liked it a lot.

Some companies also worked together and makes/made a small knife with combined features from two different knives.

If you are asking which of the several small knives on the market came first, I dont know.

Some with more knowledge about such matters will be along.

Ah good to know, I have never heard of the company so I thought it might be a cheap knock off. Thanks for the heads up!

I love my izula. Tuff little blade. If you do some searching on it, you will see how popular it is!

If you go on the ESEE website you will find the ESEE/Kabar Eskabar. Becker designs some of Kabar knives. In a little way the three companies are tied together. Some people even like ESEE more because of the Rowen HT, and the fact that they have a NO QUESTIONS ASKED lifetime warranty.

ESEE is a legit company; two of thier knives (Junglass & Candiru) have skulls on them....

Izula has been around for a long time. I don't know which came out first but I knew about the long Izula before I heard about the BK-14.

Guys explain it properly. You have two knives to start, the ESEE Izula, and the Becker BK11, at one point an end user cut them both in half and welded the BK11 blade to the Izula handle. Jeff and Ethan caught wind of it and decided to collaborate on a production piece: the BK14

Yup. This. The BK-14 is a collaboration between ESEE and Becker, featuring the blade of the BK-11 and the handle of the Izula.

In short the izula is its own knife. But the bk 14 is a collaboration between esee (makes the izula) Becker knife and tool and kabar (make the bk11) Take the becker necker blade hook it to the izula handle you get the bk 14. Its a totally legit totally legal collaboration between multiple companies to make a very user friendly lower price point small fixed blade knife. The izula is a tad more expensive then the bk 14.

Thanks for all the replies and clearing that up for me! I just ordered an Izula and a BK 14 for less than a hundred bucks. Money well spent  Thanks again guys

You'll love the Izula; they're both great knives, but the Izzie is the perfect neck knife for me.

Two very similar knives but you will find that they preform different for different things. You got two very nice small fixed blades now :)

So while we are here and on the subject. Is it true that a blade forums member performed the modification of joining the ESEE Izula and the BK11 by welding them together. Is this how the BK 14 was born?If it is true who is this genius?
