Black blade Military?

Spyderco dropped all of their black-coated blades almost immediately after starting them. IIRC, Sal and the team did not feel that the public (ELU) understood that the black coating was not meant to be "permanent". Apparently, some users wanted the coating to remain unblemished, or wanted them re-coated.
If you have ever handled one of these black blades, the early coating was fairly primitive.
OTOH, a black-black Military would like sell very well, and Spyderco could do them in DLC, which lasts for a very long time (forever?). I think though, that Spyderco has always been very careful about sending the "wrong" message.
