I just ordered a Blackjack Model 5 (with black micarta saber grip) and I'm having trouble finding reviews or pictures of this knife. Google image brings up a lot of "stock" photos, but no reviews or anything.

Anyone have this knife and mind sharing your thoughts (and pictures :D) about it?

I will be posting a review and pictures when I get the knife...

The 1-5 appears to be made by BRK&T. If I'm right about that, it should be nice knife. Take a look at reviews for the Blackjack 1-7 and you'll be in the right ballpark. :)

I have never heard anything bad about them. They are patterned after the classic and very popular Randall knives, and made from good materials.

I have several Blackjack knives and they are all stellar. You will be more than happy with materials and construction. I just paid for my 3rd version of the 5's larger brother, the 1-7, and will have micarta, leather, and stag versions.

Yep. It's hard to lay down the big bucks for a Randall when the Blackjacks are so well made.

I have two of the Model 5s - an older model with 1095 blade and a more recent version in A2. Build quality on both is excellent. For use as a camping or hunting knife, the guard gets in the way. The 125 is a much better choice for those purposes but the 5 is still a nice knife.
