If people I respected because of their comments and behaviour were of that view then I would agreeI know. I just wanted to point out to Mr "First you have to learn some logic" Moderator that he should maybe read more and post less.

So will the extremism, some of which has been screenshotted and posted in this thread as evidence, be removed from the PA? If you look, I'm sure there is a lot more. This thread is stating, unequivocally, that threats of violence & extremism will not be tolerated, period.
I think you really just have to worry about the last several weeks to be fair.I'm not going to retroactively dig through 22 years of postings looking for stuff but if something is explicit, it will be removed
I'm more thinking about the threads from the last week since the capital was stormed. Seems like that topic is where most of the threat of deplatforming would occur. Would be real easy to nuke those threads, or at least have the mods go through them and remove content like what has gotten other places shut down. Just a thought.I'm not going to retroactively dig through 22 years of postings looking for stuff but if something is explicit, it will be removed
I offered to be a mod there. They had no interest in that.Install some liberal mods to counter balance what you have now and maybe that is possible. Right now, anybody that has spent any time looking over the PA knows that right wing commenters can get away with saying just about anything while a leftish voice gets shut down and given warnings and has a ban hanging over their heads for just about anything they say.
Oh just spare us.Threats of violence are never OK and if I or Codger miss them, please do report them. But at the same time, consider this.
The PA has been around a long time and at times it has been far worse than it is now. One of the recent themes in the PA, and in some more "serious" circles, is that the USA has been increasingly divided and intolerant and more and more people are being censored and cancelled for politically incorrect and unpopular opinions rather than for actually breaking a law, even though there are many apologists for law breakers and hate speakers if they are on the politically correct side. The rising intolerance is a feature of a certain political bent, which I call "progressive", which whether they know it or not is an example of Marcuse's Repressive Tolerance. If Jefferson were a member and wrote about blood of patriots and a little revolt is necessary he'd be banned from Facebook and cancelled, and his comments at the PA would have to be scrubbed. Sorry. I wouldn't scrub Jefferson
I would love to give these monkeys a test with quotations and see what they would ban. Voltaire? Paine? banned.
Probably rip down their statues too.
Why exactly after 22 years or so is censorship or the fear of platforming now reaching into this private forum and intimidating lawful thoughtful people, and empowering the censorious, the authoritarian and the hypocritical? Is it Trump and the threat of an imminent revolt that justifies this? Fuddle duddle. There is no revolt and that is just a flimsy excuse for those who would intimidate and those who would take advantage and don't understand that nobody has the right to not be offended, especially by the truth. But you shouldn't be forced to hear or see anything you don't want. That's a different issue. Someone please tell that to the MSM
Some concerns are real and legitimate. Many are just partisan and personal. Enjoy the rest of your discussion.

Past that, this is not a thread for you guys to have a political discussion. I've made my position abundantly clear.
You've mistaken this thread for the PA echo chamber.
Sanctimonious. Shameful.
These are not terms I used.
If you could actually support your position and understand mine you wouldn't resort to insults and incoherence.
You said it was shameful to point out a member was offended by what he had to choose to see
And you say it's sanctimonious to defend myself by proving my comment wasn't shameful or "attacking the messenger"
And after that you say the mods are the problem as you do the ad hominem.
No, Mr dude, the Mods are not the problem
“Moderator”
This type of response is the problem. It’s uninformed nonsense.
You've mistaken this thread for the PA echo chamber.
I tried, and got ignored. I’m center right independent, and was seen as a flaming left socialist there. Peer reviewed studies were seen as leftist propaganda, so it is not about supporting your position, it is about agreeing with their feelings on a subject.Who has the power to review mod privileges. This has been an illuminating thread.
A “safe space”so it is not about supporting your position, it is about agreeing with their feelings on a subject.
This is how every post in PS goes. You make a valid point, someone, often a mod, misunderstands what you are trying to convey, and when you explain the actual point in several ways, they accuse you of moving the goalposts, or changing your story. It’s tiring.Ffs he wasn't saying Post Trump America was specifically offensive, he's highlighting how the PA forum pops up where many can see it.

You forgot the part where you’re labeled a leftist and told that leftys aren’t AmericansThis is how every post in PS goes.
